The craft fair was held on Sunday November 19th in the theatre/dining room/downstairs conference room and looked good! Most tables were set ready for the 11am start and the ambassadors did a cracking job supporting the stall holders and making/selling buns and refreshements.

There was a huge range of stalls, many selling really high quality hand made goods. It looked fantastic and tookup all the space with lots of coloured lights and Christmas goods too.

My personal favourite was the Normanton Rotary club stall where they were selling items handmade in the Philippines from ring-pulls off the top of drinks cans. The rotary club have supported the Purple Community Fund and got 80% of families who were living on the rubbish dumps and scavenging, into housing and they send ring pulls for them to make into bags and jewelry. There were pencil cases made from toothpaste boxes and beads made from rolled up magazine pages. The biggest problem now is getting enough ring pulls to keep them going!
