Pathways

Pathways is a scheme that helps a small group of learners overcome the problems associated with transition from Primary School to High School.

Learners cover the whole curriculum but there is a focus on Literacy and Numeracy and the reduced numbers means that there is more opportunity for group and differentiated activities.

Trip to York Railway Museum

Year 7, 8 and 9 Pathways went to York Railway Museum on February 1st for their Stop the Clock activity. They were involved in a workshop with a Physics theme - Building Bridges - and then spent time on Art and English work as they looked around the Museum. Everyone enjoyed the day and they were a credit to the school.

The photographs are from Wednesday 2nd November. Year 7 Pathways went to Pinderfields hospital school for the launch of Be the Best You Can Be. This is a PSHCE programme which schools around the country are undertaking. It focuses on improving self-esteem, responsibility and motivation.

We worked with Craig Heap an ex Olympic Athlete, and staff and learners from the Hospital school. We will be working with the Hospital school on some more activities.

The afternoon was a huge success.
