Pupils from CCHS Art Department were invited to exhibit a range of art work at Wakefield Theatre Royal based upon the theme of 'wishes'. The work formed part of the Wakefield Art Walk a prestigious event which showcases the talents of both professional and amateur artists in a series of venues throughout the city. 30,000 members of the public visited the Theatre over the Christmas period and comments on our Learners' work included, 'Excellent work, better than the professionals' and 'Enjoyed the art work, very impressed with your talent'.

 Stop the Clock Day

On Stop the Clock Day the Art Department worked with a group of learners who used everyday rubbish  to produce city silhouettes.   They needed to consider shape and light to get the right effects. Some even were innovative enough to punch holes in boxes to give the illusion of windows!

At the end of the sideshow below there are also three scrap collages inspired by the work of Van Gogh, Picasso and Frieda Khalo.
